If you are thinking of listing your home for sale this upcoming Spring (late February if you are in North Carolina), put your snow boots on and take some pictures of your home and property dressed in a beautiful blanket of fresh snowfall. A very big concern people have that move from colder climates to the Charlotte area is the desire to celebrate all of the seasons. There is a big misconception North Carolina is Spring and Summer all year round. Northerners will learn after being here for one winter how quickly the bread, milk and bottled water run out at the Harris Teeter at the first mention of snow. It just doesn’t pile up as high and lasts not nearly as long. This is why the local Lowe’s only carries five snow shovels.
So put on your coat (it’s freezing out there) and take some great photos. Do NOT have your children in them. This cannot be stressed enough. You’re going to be showcasing your home, not your kids. Once you’ve made the decision to list your home on the market, call a trusted realtor to help you on your way. Even though most of the Charlotte area is closed down because bad weather, rest assured there are many great agents hard at work. Don’t have one? I’d love to help!
