It is 
proclaimed “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year” and Davidson, North Carolina of Lake Norman will be kicking off the Holiday Season tonight. Three nights of fun in total, the whole family can enjoy! Beginning in 1988 the town of Davidson started the annual tradition of ringing in the holidays in style with this event. Starting at 6PM and finishing up at 9PM each night, locals can enjoy strolling down the beautifully decorated Main Street, enjoy a meal at any of the excellent local restaurants, start their holiday shopping at local shops or participate in the many events scheduled. You can shop the Holiday Village Vendors on the Village Green, check out the entertainment at the library stage, visit and take pictures with the Jolly man himself, have your little ones sit in on story time with Mrs. Claus, check out or participate in the Doggie Fashion Show or sign yourself or a relative up for the the Ugly Sweater Contest.

Anyone who has either visited Davidson or lives there knows what an absolutely charming, magical town it is. Picture this…. Horse-drawn carriage rides on Main Street with a hot cup of cocoa in hand with the one you love…. Not a Horse Drawn Carriage type? No worries! Simply hop on the trolley or seasonal hay ride.
If ordered in advance, the Davidson Lions Club will bring your Christmas Tree to the event. Speaking of trees! I’m going to tell you my absolute favorite part about Christmas in Davidson – Through the Rotary Club of Davidson, your business can sponsor a tree, decorate it and have it compete against other sponsored trees. Creativity is encouraged! I feel truly blessed to live in the Lake Norman area, where giving back is part of the culture! Each sponsor partners with their non-profit organization of choice. Every guest to Christmas in Davidson who wishes to participate can vote on their favorite tree. It is $1.00 per vote and guests can cast as many votes as they’d like. The tree with the most votes is given additional funding from the Rotary Club of Davidson for their non-profit organization.
