Where to Ski, Snowboard and Tube in North Carolina from the Charlotte Area

Whether you’re looking for a day-trip of winter fun or want to spend an entire weekend on the slopes, North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia resorts offer many great options. Snow lovers in the Charlotte area can hit the slopes at 14 different ski and/or tubing resorts within a six-hour drive. Almost all offer programs for beginners and children, so even your young ones can enjoy winter wonderland.

Most resorts begin their season in late November and are open through mid-March. Unfortunately, great conditions cannot be promised for the whole season. Be sure to check resort websites or call ahead every day for weather reports and any slope closures.
