Selling Your Home During The Holidays
Contrary to popular belief, selling your home during the holidays can be VERY advantageous! Here are just few reasons why:
1- There is less competition in the marketplace. Many homeowners are putting off listing their homes with their real estate agent until the upcoming spring and the “good market”. Yes, the Spring is a great time as any to sell but with more competition in the market.
2-Winter prospects are many times more serious buyers. Not many people are looking to leave the comfort of their homes or their families just to browse the market. If they’re coming over to look ,there a good chance they have already been Pre- Approved for their loan or have the money in bank waiting for the right home for their deposit money!
3- Your home looks better dressed up for the Holidays which is more attractive to your potential buyers. It gives buyers that warm and fuzzy feeling caused by the excitement of what it might feel like celebrating there with their family and friends. It’s a good thing if a buyer is wondering where they might position their decorations.
4- One of the highest percentages of listings taken to listings sold happens during the holiday months for all the reasons I’ve mentioned above.
5- You have the opportunity to receive more from your home because there are less homes on the market competing. People are still buying!
6- Other homes that are on the market with you may be restricting showings because of visits from friends or family. Set yourself apart and be VERY flexible. As we discussed, these are serious buyers. The showing you turn down might be YOUR BUYER!
7- If buyers are on vacation they may have more time to look at homes. If you are not listed while they are in your area, you have missed an opportunity.
8- To capture the audience in January, your home should be listed BEFORE the New Year.
Don’t wait! if you are thinking about listing but are thinking it’s just not the right time, you might be missing out on the buyer that is looking and in need of your house TODAY! Happy Selling!
